Class Weekly Update - 28th March 2019

Mr Rutter - 28 Mar 2019

We’ve been extremely busy again this week and so have our visiting dinosaurs! We discovered even more footprints this morning – our experts thought that they could be Tyrannosaurus Rex footprints.

In our writing, we have received a reply from our visitors. They explained that they are on holiday in Kirkby Malzeard and will be travelling up to Loch Ness for the Easter holidays. This prompted us to investigate the Loch Ness Monster, or as she prefers to be called, Nessie. We have also been preparing some information to display in our Dinosaur Museum which we will open for a playtime in the last week of term.

In our maths work we have been continuing to look at division. We are starting to really understand how we divide and some of us have been making links to multiplication too! Next week we will start to explore fractions! Perhaps over the weekend you could get the children thinking about fractions – e.g. cut your sandwich in half, show me what half of that group of raisins would be.

Most of you have now attended a learning review meeting, if you still haven’t had a meeting please contact me to arrange one as soon as possible. I am happy to be flexible so that your child is able to talk about their learning and so that we can discuss what ways we can support them even more.
