What a successful week we have had!

In our English work we have continued to focus on description and how to use figurative language to describe a setting. We have revised lots of linguistic features and learnt how to use metaphors, similes and adjectives to describe settings. We are so impressed with the writing the children have produced this week, with phrases such as 'the peaceful lake was like a mirror', 'swimming in a sea of diamonds' and 'towering pearly white rocks'!

In our Maths lessons we have investigated time. We did lots of work at the start of the week to find out what the children already knew before building on this. Time is a tricky concept and all of the children are working at different stages, but they have all made good progress from their starting points. It would be really useful to consolidate this at home - checking whether children can tell the time to one hour, half past, quarter to and quarter past and finally to one minute i.e. 'twenty one minutes past seven'.

On an afternoon we have continued to work hard on our production of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat'. It looks and sounds amazing so far! A costume list can be found in the 'Cedar' section of the class pages.
