100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge

01 Mar 2018

As part of our World Book Day celebrations, our reading ambassadors were due to launch our exciting 100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge.  Today is a great day to get started!

We have signed up to join schools and other settings across the UK to collectively read for 100,000,000 minutes!  There will be a selection of prizes awarded to the schools that clock the highest average number of reading minutes per pupil.  All we have to do is read!   Up for the challenge?  Of course you are!

All reading counts towards our minutes.  You can read anything – paperbacks, magazines, comics, plays, newspapers and e-books are all great.   You can read on your own or to someone – just make sure you log your minutes.

Oak and Palm pupils need to log their minutes in their reading records; Cedar pupils need to log their minutes in their planners.  Our reading ambassadors will then collect our school’s collective minutes, which will be logged on to the challenge leader board.

Minutes can be collected from 9am today (Thursday 1st March) until 5pm Thursday 29th March 2018.  So…let’s get reading!  Remember to log those minutes - every minute of reading counts!

Please note – we are still planning to celebrate World Book Day.  We will notify parents and pupils once we have confirmed a new date.
