Weekly Update - 3rd May 2018

01 May 2018

What another busy week in Palm Class! We all really enjoyed taking part in the tri-golf festival at Outwood Academy on Wednesday; I was very impressed with the skills of sportsmanship and teamwork that the children exhibited -not to mention the wonderful golfing on show! Many thanks to thanks to the parents who came along to help out on the afternoon and a special 'well done' to Maisy who was chosen by the Sports Leaders as showing great respect. In our Maths lessons we have focussed on time and telling the time, including solving problems using calendars. It would be great to practise these skills at home - we are all still a bit rusty on our time skills! In English we have continued investigating our text 'Toro! Toro! and focussed on the character of Antonito - we have completed lots of drama activities and thought showering before writing our own descriptions of his character. In our Science lessons we investigated switches and made our own switches using pegs, paperclips, split pins and cardboard! Finally, we have helped prepare the land art for the Tour De Yorkshire and worked hard on our entries for the Art Competition with the theme of the Tour De Yorkshire.

There was some super punctuation on show! I hope everybody enjoys the Bank Holiday weekend and gets to enjoy some of the Tour De Yorkshire!
