Weekly Update - 21st June 2018

18 Jun 2018

I can't believe another week has flown by already! Palm Class have continued to work very hard. In our Maths lessons this week we have begun our topic on Geometry. We are really enjoying seeing how our work on shape links to our previous topic on position and co-ordinates - it's great when the children are able to see links between mathematical concepts. We also launched the brilliant 'Times Table Rockstars' and children had great fun practising their times tables. Please keep going over the weekend! In English we have finished our non-chronological reports. The children have worked very hard to research aspects of Spanish life - including food, culture and language and really honed their writing skills to produce some great pieces of work.

It was a very messy Monday as we began our volcanoes project in Geography. We began by creating a base layer using newspaper, a plastic bottle and masking tape, before adding layers of Modroc. We are excitedly waiting for this to set so we can decorate our volcanic landscapes! Palm Class have also been busy undertaking lots of Science learning with Mrs Buggy and Mrs Marley. They decided how to living and non-living things before beginning to investigate how keys can be used to sort and classify information. All of this, whilst also finding time to squeeze in some rehearsals for 'Shakespeare Rocks'. Have a lovely weekend!
