Weekly Update - 20th September 2018

18 Sep 2018

I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by! Palm Class have continued to settle into the new routines really well. Mrs Martin, Mrs Spence and I are impressed every single day with how much they have improved on the day before. They are becoming fantastic listeners and the Year 3's are really picking up the pace and demonstrating how quickly they can grasp new concepts and routines.

In English we have been busy writing and editing our recounts of our visit to Murton Park - the children have worked hard on their presentation and the addition of detail within our paragraphs. There's even some impressive punctuation creeping in! In Maths we have continued to investigate place value and have started to apply this to rounding numbers - beginning with lots of practical rounding first to really cement this tricky skill.

On Monday we enjoyed investigating a bag of rubbish in History and discovering what we could find out about (the recent!) past from looking at the artefacts. Our R.E focus has continued to be about journeys - yesterday we thought about what we would take with us on a special journey. The children came up with some fantastic ideas.

We have also enjoyed getting creative - a second group of chefs spent the afternoon with Mrs Brassington yesterday and we had great fun at Messy Church on Monday.
