Weekly Update - 20th December 2018

20 Dec 2018

We have had such a busy final week in Palm Class. The week began with a really super 'Sharing Day' on Monday. In the morning, Cedar Class had planned some great Roman activities for us. We really enjoyed tasting Roman foods, taking part in quizzes and looking at their exciting presentations. In the afternoon, we lead the session, basing activities around our prehistory topic. We organised eight activities for Cedar to take part in - deer racing, hunting, farming, a scavenger hunt, a treasure hunt, crafts, drama and board games. We learnt a lot from each other and really got a taste of each history topic.

In English we have reflected on our writing over the term, editing work and choosing peices of work for our writing gallery and continued to focus on statistics in mathematics. We also had a real push with SMIRFS this week - with lots of children pleasingly passing their 'planet'.

The children created some wonderful posters detailing their learning over the term in History.

The week has ended with a day of festive fun! Key Stage 2 voted for their favourite Christmas film and enjoyed tasty snacks this morning. This afternoon we shared board games with our friends - only after using persuasive techniques to really 'sell' them!

Have a wonderful Christmas break!

* There will be no Celebration Assembly tomorrow due to the end of term service.
