Weekly Update - 28th March 2019

28 Mar 2019

We have had another wonderful week in Palm Class! In English, the children have worked very hard completing their own stories set in India. They were very motivated about this task and really demonstrated super writing abilities - remembering lots of features of writing they have already covered during the year. We are going to be working hard on editing and redrafting going into next week before sharing our finished writing with an audience.

In our maths lessons we have continued to focus on fractions. Some children have worked with Mr Donaldson investigating equivalence and finding fractions of quantities; others have worked with Mr Anson to develop a really secure understanding of what a fraction 'is'.

In our geography lesson this week we used atlases to find physical and human features within India. In R.E we continue to investigate Holy Week - this week thinking about Good Friday and how it links to the importance of prayer. On Monday we began a new Computing unit of work based on control and programming using superlogo to give the computer commands. We can't wait to continue it next week!

Unfortunately, we have noticed an increasing number of children who have not got the correct P.E kit in school. Please could we remind you that children should have black or blue shorts and a plain white t-shirt (not a polo neck). We will be checking P.E bags on Monday!

Have a lovely weekend.
