Weekly Update - 3rd October 2019

03 Oct 2019

We have had a great day at Eden Camp. The children were fantastic ambassadors for our school- they were respectful, knowledgeable and inquisitive in their exploration of the museum. They were also incredibly brave when experiencing some dramatic huts- it really gave them an opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the war! Another highlight was definitely the puppet show! Many thanks to Mrs Robinson and Mrs Milne for accompanying us.

In the classroom, our English focus has been on creating our own narrative. We had a soggy walk to church via Main Street, where we thought what Kirkby would be like during the war. We then used this to write descriptively as though we were hurrying to the shelter in the church yard- I can’t wait to read the writing over the weekend!

In Maths we have consolidated our understanding of place value by solving problems and investigating different contexts. The Year 4’s have also learnt about the place value of decimal numbers.

Next Wednesday looks set to be a busy one- please join us for the Harvest Festival at church at 9.30am. During the afternoon the Year 3’s will be attending the ‘Book Hullabaloo’ at Holy Trinity Church-

a letter will be sent home on Monday.

Another big thanks for all of the homework we have seen- it’s wonderful to see the children so enthusiastic!

Have a great weekend!
