Weekly Update - 14th November 2019

11 Nov 2019

What a wonderful week we have had in Palm Class!

The children continue to impress me with their hard work and attitudes- they have come such a long way in such a short time from September.

In our English work this week we have continued to investigate the text ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’. We have had lots of questions about refugees. We have focussed on speech punctuation this week and all children are now confident in placing inverted commas correctly in sentences- some children are also using more adventurous speech punctuation!

In Maths we have worked hard to develop our understanding of subtraction. We have investigated and learnt some technical vocabulary including minuend, subtrahend and vinculum line- see if your children can tell you about them.

The children enjoyed a History session with Mrs Griffiths on Wednesday afternoon whilst I was on a training course and today we learnt more about the important jobs women did during the war.

Have a wonderful weekend
