OUR EXCITING VIRTUAL BALLOON RACE FUNDRAISER WILL BE LAUNCHING FROM SANTA'S VILLAGE IN LAPLAND AT 12 NOON ON CHRISTMAS DAY.

You've heard of balloon races, however did you know about virtual balloon races? They're a brilliant, environmentally and COVID friendly alternative, as well as being heaps of fun! And you can even customise and decorate your virtual balloons!
Friends of Kirkby Malzeard C of E School virtual balloon race will be launching from Santa’s Village in Lapland at 12 noon on Christmas Day. Each virtual balloon will follow a simulated flight pattern based on live weather conditions in Lapland, such as wind speed and temperature. The race starts on Christmas Day at 12 noon from Santa’s Village in Lapland ( after he’s come back from delivering all those presents he needs something to do with the elves!!) and finishes 7 days later Thursday December the 31st 2020. The balloons which travels the furthest in 7 days wins one of our superb Christmas hampers!
Each balloon costs just £3 and you can buy as many as you like - it's fun for all ages, and as it's such a cool way to learn more about geography and meteorology it's great for teachers, parents and grandparents to do with children.
Taking part is so simple!
1. Buy your virtual balloons ..https://ecoracing.co/
Search for our cause, Friends of Kirkby Malzeard C of E School. Register and purchase your balloons.
2. Name and decorate your virtual balloon. Perhaps you could even name a balloon after each member of your family or forward the email to friends to take part and support your school.
3. Track the progress of your virtual balloons online over the course of the race (tracking is available 30 minutes after the race has started)
4. If one of yours goes the furthest you'll win one of our fantastic Christmas hampers. You will be emailed to let you know that you have won if you're not hooked and watching live!!!
Please enter all your balloons by 11:30am on Friday the 25th of December at the latest to make sure all transactions go through smoothly before the race begins.
