The first week of the half term ended with a moving act of remembrance led by the children. We were joined by parents, families and friends for this service in the school hall which was the culmination of work this term on 'Remembrance'. The project was co-ordinated by Mr Rutter and the centrepiece was a 'waterfall of poppies' which took pride of place in the hall. Children placed 100 decorated jars, illuminated with candles, to mark out 100 - the anniversary of the end of WW1. Children contributed poems, thoughts and prayers and Freddie shared some moving artefacts from his family - a real link with the war. A big thank you to Mr Weld, a former soldier and one of our Governors, who read out the names of the 'fallen' from Kirkby Malzeard and also marked the occassion with  a poem. Mrs Hewitt, one of our parents sounded the last post.
