Weekly Update Thursday 26th June 2025

26 Jun 2025

Our Vision

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

New this week…

School Fundraisers
We are so proud of members of our school community who have been raising funds for causes close to their heart.  This really shows that they are living out our school values.  We would like to make a special mention for Keira who raised funds for school and Oliver who rasied funds for St Michaels Hospice.

Moana the Musical
Parents who have secured tickets for the afternoon performance are welcome to collect any younger children from school at 1pm so they can attend the school production. Please note, the children must have tickets allocated to them.

We are not anticipating that there will be any spare tickets available this year, however if there are, parents will be informed once we have finalised numbers.

Thank you for all the donations of cardboard, we do not need anymore, thank you very much.

A reminder that costumes need to be in school, named and in a named bag by Friday 27th June (tomorrow).

On Wednesday 2nd July we will be having a dress rehearsal for Moana at Kirkby school.  All children in EYFS and KS1 from both schools will be joining us for a picnic lunch, followed by the performance.  Children who are booked in for a school dinner will be provided with a picnic by Mrs Wilcox.

KIDSLINGO
There will be no French club on Wednesday 2nd July, parents have been notified separately

Whizz Kids 4th July
There will be no Whizz Kids available on Friday 4th July due to the production of Moana the Musical taking place at Masham Town Hall.

Parent Pay
As we move towards the end June, we would like to gently remind parents to settle their Parent Pay accounts where required. You can check your account balance at any time by logging into your Parent Pay account. Please visit www.parentpay.com
If you have any queries regarding arrears, please do not hesitate to contact admin to discuss this further.

September Reception starters
Acorn class will be welcoming our new Reception starters into school for their second induction day this week, a reminder that there is a meeting for parents only at 4pm on Tuesday 1st July.

Class Collective Worship
Each week one of our Collective Worship sessions takes place in class with a focus on something in the news.  Attached is a take home that you might like to think about and share with your child at home, there is no need to return this to school.  There is a new sheet each week.

Forest School Friday
To support our Golden Thread further, Helen will be running a morning forest school session for each class on a Friday morning based around understanding and embracing the wider world. The dates are on the website and are as follows:

Friday 4th July – Acorn & Oak

Children should come in comfy, warm clothes suitable for forest school. They will need long trousers, tops with long sleeves (due to the nettles in our wildlife area), water proofs and wellies.

Message from Sporting Influence
We are excited to announce that this summer we are running a Sporting Influence Activity Camp at Moorside Community Primary School in Ripon. This will run between Monday 28th July and Friday 1st August.

Our fun filled activity camps, where children play and take part in a wide range of sports and activities, have gone from strength to strength in Harrogate. We are thrilled to be able to offer the children of Ripon the same experience.  See the flyer for more information.
