New this week…
Parent Pay
Thank you to all those parents who have already settled their accounts and paid for the relevant clubs and activities this term. However please could we ask that any outstanding payments are settled as soon as possible.
A reminder that school meals and whizz Kids sessions should have been settled by the end of September.
Apples
We have lots of beautiful and delicious apples in the school orchard; more than we can eat in school, if you can use any please let us know. There are also plenty of windfall if anyone has any animals who would like a treat!
Wool
Mrs Pawson has a large collection of wool, if anyone has a project that might need some wool or know anyone who does then please see Mrs Pawson. The wool is free to a good home!
Harvest
We are getting ready for our harvest celebration in school on October 14th. As last year we would like to invite children, families and members of our local community to come and share their harvest experiences with us. Last year we had lots of wonderful examples of what the harvest means to us in our community and some great things were bought into school for us to see. We would like to include as many people within the community as possible, e.g. flower growers, bee keepers, gardeners, farmers, market gardeners, orchardists everyone is welcome! Please get in touch with Mrs Pawson (in person or via email) as soon as possible if you would like to join us or know someone who would .

Headlice- NITS
We have a significant outbreak of headlice in school, please can we ask everyone to check hair throughout families and treat all cases over the weekend. A reminder that a follow up treatment is needed a week later to ensure all eggs and lice are treated. A nit comb is also advisable to remove dead eggs and lice from hair after treatment.

Netball competition for Year 5/6
A small group of Year 5/6 girls are participating in a netball tournament at Outwood Academy on the morning of Wednesday 8
th October. Further details will be sent out to those pupils who are involved.
Forest School Wednesday – Oak class
This half term
Oak will have their forest school sessions
EVERY Wednesday. Children need to bring with them appropriate clothing and footwear to be outside all afternoon. They will need long trousers, water proofs and wellies. Please make sure that these items are named.
Forest School Friday
To support our Golden Threads, Helen will be running a morning forest school session for each class on a Friday morning. Dates are as follows:
Friday 3
rd October – Acorn
Children should come in comfy, warm clothes suitable for forest school. They will need long trousers, water proofs and wellies. Please send uniform in a bag for the afternoon session.
Class Collective Worship
Each week one of our Collective Worship sessions takes place in class with a focus on something in the news. Attached is a take home that you might like to think about and share with your child at home, there is no need to return this to school. There is a new sheet each week.

Reminders…
Waterproof coats
We have been caught out by showers a few times this week, we like to spend as much time outside as possible, children do need to have a waterproof coat with them every day.
Headlice
We have cases of headlice in school, please can we ask you to check your child’s hair and to treat any eggs or lice.
Manor Court Parking
Can we ask all parents to
avoid parking in Manor Court at drop off and pick up, this is part of a planning agreement which is in place with our school.
