Our Vision
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.
New this week…
New staff to school
We are delighted to welcome two new staff members to school. Mrs Helen Dibb has been appointed as the additional administrator to work alongside Mrs Phillips in our office. She has started this week and looks forward to meeting you all over the coming weeks. We have also welcomed Mrs Kron. Mrs Kron will be working across all classes supporting children with their reading and started her induction training this week.
Spotlights from Learning…
Acorn Class
This week we have been looking at maps and photos of Kirkby Malzeard. We have discovered that some of the buildings have an interesting past! I wonder if you can recognise any of the buildings as you walk to and from school? We are all curious about the different dates on our school buildings and we are using our detective skills to think about why this could be!
Oak Class
Oak class have thoughtfully reflecting on the meaning of the prodigal son story for Christians and for themselves. Ask your child about what are the most important values in the story.
Palm Class
This week we concluded our science learning on tooth decay. We had been investigating which liquids caused the most tooth decay. Ask your child about what we found out and what we decided we needed to do to keep our bodies healthy.
Cedar Class
We have loved writing about Rosa Parks using a range of fantastic figurative language and meaningful intelligent metaphors to describe this remarkable and courageous person. Ask your child about who Rosa Parks was and how she changed the world?
Also this week …
Nativity
The children in Acorn and Oak classes are starting to think about their Nativity; there will be performances at 2pm and 5pm on Tuesday 16
th December. Teachers will be in touch with information nearer the time.
Patronal Festival – Saturday 29th November 2025
We are busy learning songs to sing at our Patronal Festival which this year will be held in St Andrew church. We will be singing at 11.30am on
Saturday 29th November 2025. All children and parents will be welcome; more details will follow shortly. All children will need to be accompanied by their own adult at all times.
Warm waterproof clothing
With the change in weather please can children come to school prepared to be outside in all weathers, even if children do not want to come to school wearing a coat, can they bring one with them, as we never know who the weather will change during the day. Hats, scarves and gloves all need to be named please.
Children in Need
On Friday 14
th November we celebrated Children in need in school. We are pleased to announce that we have raised a fantastic amount of £140.50. It was exciting to watch the Sara Cox documentary, showing clips of her 135 mile adventure. It has also been fantastic to see all the support and clips of our school on social media. Many thanks to everybody that took part.

We would love it if you could donate any new pyjamas to help those who don’t get that wonderful feeling at Christmas. You can donate PJs from now until Monday 1st December 2025. Please can it be new PJs only. Any ages. There is a bin on the playground to place them in. Thank you!
