Our Vision
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.
New this week…
Important Update: New School Information System (Arbor) from September
Arbor
Further to our recent communication, we are transitioning our school management system to Arbor. This system consolidates our school data and communications into one platform, allowing you to easily manage your child's school life from your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Through the Arbor Parent Portal and Arbor Parent App you will be able to:
• View your child's attendance
• Receive in-app messages and notifications directly to your phone
• Update your contact information and manage consents
• Make booking and payments for clubs, trips, and school meals
How to set up your account:
Today you will have received an email from school with your unique login link. Please complete the following steps:
1. Open the welcome email from us (please check your junk/spam folder if you do not see it).
2. Click the link provided in the email.
3. Your username will be the email address we have on file for you.
4. Click "Forgot your password?" to generate your password and log in.
Once your account is activated via your web browser, we highly recommend downloading the Arbor App for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
If you have any queries or have trouble accessing your account, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school office for help.
Thank you!
Thank you to the friends for the ice lollies they so kindly provided this week to keep us cool. They were VERY much appreciated.
Another huge thank you to Emily Stirk and Racheal Tibbits for their help in preparing the scenery for our show next week. It looks amazing!
Thank you all for your support.
Pupil Voice in Collective Worship
This week in our Collective Worship, we have been sharing and reflecting together on what Collective Worship truly means to us. We have considered what makes these moments so special, both as a community and for each of us as individuals.
We would love to share with you some of the truly wonderful insights our children have offered. They spoke with great hope and conviction, expressing their belief that, as the next generation, they can make a positive difference in the world. They recognised that leading with kindness, tolerance and compassion are the foundations of this change. Our children showed a deep commitment to living by our values of kindness, patience, peace and love; principles they feel strongly about and aspire to uphold now and in the future.6
Our young people never fail to inspire a sense of hope for the future. We sincerely hope they always remain true to what matters most to them. It is a privilege to work with them.
Booknic
On Friday July 10
th we will be holding a ‘Booknic’ which is a chance to
read, relax, eat and discuss books together and to build reading together memories. We will also be welcoming Harriet into school from the Library Service to launch the annual ‘Summer Reading Challenge’. Children will all share a picnic lunch together and we will have an extended reading buddies time weather permitting in the orchard. If your child has booked a school dinner they will have this served as a ‘picnic. Families are welcome to join us between 12.30pm and 1pm in the orchard.
Collective Worship
We would like to invite families to join us in our whole school Collective Worship on the 6

Spotlights from Learning…
Acorn
We are thoroughly enjoying our History learning as we explore the events of the Great Fire of London. The children have been examining different sources of evidence and thinking carefully about what happened and why. We have been reflecting on some of the more intriguing details and wondering why Samuel Pepys chose to bury his cheese along with his diary for safekeeping! I wonder what you would have chosen to bury for safe keeping? We are coming to the end of our 30 Days Wild Challenge, I wonder who is exploring some of the ideas at home as we enter the last week of June?
Oak Class
In Geography we are enjoying learning about where our food comes from and how climate affects this (although our climate is changing). Did you know that tea is now being grown in Cornwall? This week we have looked at foods grown and processed in the UK and next week will explore foods from across the world. Perhaps you could look at packaging at home and discuss where it comes from. I wonder whether there will be any surprises.
Palm Class
We have had a super busy week this week. One of our highlights has been seeing our art sculpture designs based on the Easter Island Moai sculptures come to life. We have each designed a sculpture to represent one of our ancestors using wire and mod rock - all they need now is paint! Ask your child all about what ancestor they chose - we are very proud of them!
Cedar Class
It has been a fantastic week this week in Cedar as we prepare for the KS2 summer production, working extremely hard on our speaking and listening. The backstage crew have been fantastic preparing all the props and backgrounds. The children have been outstanding in learning their lines and taking stage direction. It will be such a fantastic opportunity for the children to be part of such a spectacular production and such an amazing experience taking part.
